Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) PS Sonic Logging Borehole Seismic imaging with 3C geophones or 3C accelerometers
Borehole seiemic imaging instrument is used to take seismic data from borehole with 3C geophones or 3C accelerometers. There are 3 type borehole geophones can be used for Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) . It can take P WAVE and S wave. The depth will be 160m depth from borehole
Different types of VSP and their benefits are outlined with stress on seismic calibration through corridor stack. The difference between the check-shot and VSP surveys and distinction between VSP well (seismic) velocity and sonic velocity are pointed out. Shortcomings of check-shot and VSP velocity surveys and ways to check these are suggested.
